If any one character, it's 3D Mario, modeled that way for the first time. The time has come for our next part of Super Mario RPG in which we head to Rose Town to confront a crisis that seems to have brought the townsfolks daily ro. This is because I can see how the game of SMRPG is influential and important, but Geno as a character is not really representative of it the way that the Geno Stans make it out to be. Princess not as much, since her Smash character is already like 75% her SMRPG version. What would be more fun to me is an alternate version of Mario or Bowser, like how we have Toon Link and Doctor Mario. So the historical importance is there for the game but as for Geno, does it really represent the whole thing? Mallow is way more important to the story and the game world. This makes his lack of appearances fairly understandable due to the legal. Geno, like most of the Super Mario RPG cast created for the game, has his rights tied with Square Enix. I agree also with the sentiment, though although Geno itself is kinda meh, SMRPG took Mario into a completely new direction, and in fact proved that you can take any IP into a real RPG direction while still keeping true to the source. Genos real name is different in the Japanese version of Super Mario RPG, using a one-time set of unpronounceable symbols derived from a fictional star language. And then it just goes away at the end leaving the doll lifeless as before it came in. Agreed, and having logged more than 1000 hours on SMRPG I've got to say that Geno is such a weird character anyway, not even part of the SMRPG world, it is a visitor from another world taking possession of a toy doll that has no actual connection to Mario or even anyone else in that game world.
